Taught by Muhammad Alshareef

The Code of Scholars: Usool Al Fiqh is the official recording of an AlMaghrib Institute Seminar. Is eating meat at your local fast-food joint Haram? Allah says so? How would you know?

Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef explains how scholars identify the sources of Islamic law, how halal/haram are extracted from these sources, and the correct application of this process. He further details such things as who is it that has the authorization to approve laws in Islam, how are texts from the Qur'an and Sunnah analyzed, and how apparently contradicting sources are reconciled.

These lectures have been organized to present a vast and intricate subject in a simple and systematic manner. In a sense, Usool al Fiqh allows the listener a sneak peek into the scholars' bag of tools. The study of this science, or the principles of how something becomes law in Islam, is considered to be the "grammar" of Islamic law. In this seminar presented over 13 CDs, Shaykh Alshareef provides a comprehensive foundation to this amazing science.
